Christmas in Australia means thirty-odd degrees, the cricket on the radio and a quick nine before lunch. The fairy bread is still on the table, it has simply made a little more effort this year.

The bread has been baked a shade darker, closer to gingerbread, with white icing and a scatter of candy canes raised off the surface. Cut from solid iron and plated in black nickel, and made in limited numbers for the season. Once it is gone, it will not be back until next Christmas, if at all.
